According to the statistics from World Energy Association, the global coal is expected to exploit for 200 years, petroleum oil is 30-40 years while natural gas is 60 years. With the annual growth rate of 5% for global energy consumption, the fossil fuel energy is expected to use for another one or two hundred years. In one word, the global energy is in great shortage. As the per capital energy in China is half of the world level and 1/10 of American level, the energy shortage problem is much more serious in China. Energy saving and new energy development have become the common issue for human beings. China has listed energy saving and environmental protection as the basic state policy. It is regarded as an issue which is concerned with people’s vital interest as well as survival and development of Chinese Ethnic Peoples. Energy and environment are the two major topics of sustainable development. The current building heating air conditions which are based on fossil fuel are not only with large consumption but also serious pollution to the environment. The city sewage mainly includes industrial sewage and domestic sewage. The abundant sewage is kind of reproducible heat resource which contains plentiful low grade heating energy. And the sewage heat pump air condition system takes the city sewage as building cold and hear sources. It is not only an important technology to solve the problems of building winter heating, summer cooling and all-year-round hot water supply, but also an efficient way to develop the city sewage as kind of resource. Meanwhile it reduces the production of exhaust heat, CO2, SO2, NOx and ash.
The sewage heat pump system is one of the heat pump technologies which with the most bright prospect for development and application. Presently, this technology is well developed and with many practical engineering examples at home and abroad. At the beginning of 1980s it was widely applied in North European countries like Sweden and Norway and partially applied in China. Data shows that the application of sewage heat pump system will save more than 2/3 electric energy comparing with electric heating boiler, and more than 1/2 coal energy comparing with traditional coal burning boiler. As the heat source temperature of sewage heat pump is relatively stable all year round, the refrigeration and heating coefficient is about 40% higher than that of traditional air source heat pump, and the operating cost is 50% to 60% of general central air condition.
Comparing with clean heating modes the calculation results show that economic efficiency of sewage heat pump is very significant: equipment investment, annual operating fee and cost are 84.1%, 85.0% and 72.5% of groundwater heat source system, 77.1%, 35.0% and 46.2% of gas air-cooled air conditioning system.
